Broderick Stephen Harvey was born in Welch, West Virginia, USA on January 17, 1957 – his zodiac sign is Capricorn and he is an American national. He is a TV show host, comedian and businessman, best known for hosting the TV game show ‘Family Feud’ and ‘The Steve Harvey Morning Show’.
Steve was raised in Welch by his mother Eloise Vera, who was a housewife, and his father Jesse Harvey, who was a coal miner. The family moved to Cleveland, Ohio before Steve could finish grade school, but the street they lived on was renamed Steve Harvey Way in 2015.
He attended Glenville High School, where he became interested in stand-up comedy, and after graduating from matriculation, enrolled at Kent State University, transferring to West Virginia University after a year, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in 1979 .
He started his career as a stand-up comedian on October 8, 1985, while working various jobs including boxer, postman, car worker and several others. In 1987, he became homeless and lived from day to day until 1990, until he reached the finals on the National Comedy Search competition show; after four years of being a popular stand-up comedian, in 1994 he was invited to star in the series “Me and the Boys”.
