Kelsea Ballerini and Morgan Evans are no longer married after the former filed for divorce on Aug. 26. According to a People insider, they had been working on their marriage for a long time and had previously broken up. According to the insider, the couple has been in treatment for years.
In an Instagram story about her divorce from 37-year-old Evans, Ballerini wrote:
“Friends, I have always done my best to share my life with you in a sincere and sensitive way, while shielding aspects of my personal life as they arise.” Since this is now public information, I wanted to let you know that I am getting a divorce.”
She further noted that the choice was the product of love, progress and work, and that eventually came to an end. While looking ahead to her future, the 28-year-old expressed gratitude for her long-standing marriage to Evans. She concluded by commenting that they have busy schedules and are slowly recovering and doing their best.
Evans also published a statement stating:
“I am very sorry to inform you that Kelsea and I are divorcing after almost five years of marriage.” I wish it were different, but it isn’t.”

All about Morgan Evans
Morgan Evans is a 37-year-old country singer and songwriter who was born on April 25, 1985. The Australian artist’s self-titled first album debuted at number 20 on the ARIA Albums Chart, earning him the ARIA Award for Best Country Album. in 2019. Evans has two siblings: a sister named Jane and a younger brother named Tom who also happens to be a musician. Morgan debuted at age 13 as a member of the band Extortion while attending Warners Bay High School. He was the lead singer and guitarist for the group and he eventually signed with Sony BMG and released his debut EP Big Skies in 2007.
Morgan released his second EP, Live Every Day, in January 2012, followed by his third EP, While Were Young. Morgan Evans, his next album, was released in March 2014. From 2015 to 2017, Morgan Evans hosted the CMC Music Awards. In May 2017, he moved to Nashville and signed with Warner Music Nashville, where he released his debut song Kiss Somebody. This was followed in December 2017 by another single, I Do, as well as his fourth EP, Morgan Evans EP, and second studio album, Things That We Drink To. Morgan’s second issue, Diamonds, was released in November 2019 and he received the Outstanding International Achievement Award at the APRA Awards in March 2020.
Relationship Kelsea Ballerini and Morgan Evans
Kelsea Ballerini and Morgan Evans first met at the CMC Awards in Australia in 2016. They began dating that same year, got engaged over Christmas and married in 2017. Feel Your Way Through, Ballerini’s book of poetry was published last year in which she discussed how her parents’ divorce affected her relationships and views on marriage. In an interview with People, she said she would never marry and characterized her parents’ divorce as “very annoying and drawn out.”
She continued and said:
“For a long time I just saw their marriage as their divorce.” As I got older, I was able to talk to them about their marriage and pre-divorce, recognizing that there was beauty and love there at some point. So I knew I could locate it.”
However, she admitted that marriage was a fantasy that might just work. Kelsea said she and Morgan went to treatment together and separately when they discussed the benefits of counseling. She said it was crucial for them because of their busy and unusual lifestyle, which resulted in them spending little time together.
