During the next decade he started hosting seminars and regularly appears at conferences. His seminars were also very successful with many people attending the usually expensive event.

Using the wealth he gained from working as a coach, he started venturing into investments and business. He helped buy the rights to the Los Angeles Football Club along with former professional basketball player Magic Johnson. In 1995, he paid more than $200,000 in fines for violating the Federal Trade Commission franchise rule. Five years later he had one lawsuit brought against him by financial author Wade Cook because Tony used many sentences from his books in his seminars, which are copyrighted sentences.

Cook was to be paid $600,000 after the judge ruled in his favor; the case was later appealed and settled out of court.
