Luke George Evans was born on April 15, 1979 in Pontypool, Wales, to Yvonne and David Evans. Evans is the only child of his parents and grew up as a Jehovah’s Witness. He spent most of his childhood in Aberbargoed, a small village in the Rhymney Valley.
At the age of 16 he dropped out of school and moved to Cardiff to study with the famous singing coach Louise Ryan. Evans later received a scholarship to the London Studio Centre, graduating in 2000.
